Kion Davis was only 20 years old when he was incarcerated. Now at 43 and having spent more than two decades behind bars, Kion is a published author who works diligently on his personal goals and mentors the people serving time with him – a task he has successfully accomplished with the love and support of his family and friends. 

Virginia is home to hundreds of thousands of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). The AAPI community consists of many distinct cultures, approximately 50 ethnic groups speaking over 100 languages, with connections to Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other Asian and Pacific Islander ancestries. In May and all year long, we wish to honor and celebrate AAPI Virginians that we work with through the music they love.
