MyBodyisNotPublicPropertyTired of the political rhetoric around abortion? Change it! Start by reading real stories about women’s decisions to have abortions.  Understand how a woman thinks and feels about abortion – without political labels.
Typical labels don’t reflect the real ways people think and feel about abortion. What we do know is that it’s just not that simple.  We don’t know a woman’s specific situation, and we’re not in her shoes. But, since one in three women has an abortion by the age of 45, we must get rid of abortion’s stigma.
So, let’s start a conversation. Instead of putting people in one category or another, we should respect the real-life decisions women and their families face every day. To understand a woman’s real-life decisions, we urge you to read this trending New York Magazine article containing 26 stories from women who chose to have an abortion. These stories show how abortion is a deeply personal and often complex decision for a woman.
Everyone’s circumstances are different, and we should respect and support a woman and her family as they face the decision of whether or not to have a child. A woman facing an unintended pregnancy needs the opportunity to make the best decision for her unique situation. We should support and respect a woman's emotions about abortion and not interfere with her ability to make that decision.
